For the third year in a row we have been shortlisted to receive a prestigious routeone Award.

The routeone Awards are for those who have been judged as the best in the coach and bus industry. But it is equally an opportunity for everyone in the industry to celebrate its successes. The search for excellence started earlier this year when manufacturers, dealers and suppliers nominated potential winners. We have since submitted our entry and have already been judged by an expert panel. The winners will be announced at a gala presentation evening on the 4th October at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Master Matthew is our third Irizar to arrive in 2017. It is our first i8 integral and is a flagship coach which sets the pace.

Powered by the DAF MX13 engine it produces a smooth 462 bhp and still meets an environmentally friendly euro 6 emission standard.

Interior features include 53 leather seats with seat back tables, magazine nets and foot rests, a Bosch professional sound system including a DVD player with two monitors, passenger Wi-Fi, a fridge and hot drinks machine, a centre WC,  colour changing LED lights, three point seat belts, black tinted side windows and climate control.

Travelling in the Irizar i8 is a unique sensory experience.  The interior of this vehicle reflects the cool drama generated by its sculptural exterior design.

Master George is our second new arrival in 2017 from Irizar UK. It is an i4 Integral powered by a DAF MX-11 240 engine which meets euro 6 emission standards.

With 70 passenger seats this is the ideal vehicle for school transportation.  The large seating capacity often eliminates the need for two coaches. Passengers can take advantage of the climate controlled interior, 3 point seatbelts, and DVD player with two LCD screens.

Master Danny is the first Irizar to join us in 2017 and is our fifth i6 Integral.

Supplied to us by Irizar UK it is powered by a DAF engine producing 369 bhp and meets Euro 6 emission standards. Inside it boasts 53 passenger seats in our company colours along with a fold away tray table at each seat. The climate control will keep you comfortable whilst you enjoy a movie shown on one of the two LCD screens.

This vehicle is a versatile high-end coach, ideal for commuter and touring services. It certainly stands out due to its features, design, aerodynamics, attention to detail and comfort.

It was a good start to 2017 with thirty of our drivers taking part in a TFL training course. The course looked at how to minimise the impact and improve efficiency of coach operation in London and understand the increasing demand for parking and road space in the capital. The course also covered operational practices to ensure they continue to meet customers’ requirements as traffic congestion increases.

This extra training will certainly enhance our customers experience when they travel with us to the many attractions London has to offer.

After 39 years Les has decided to hang up his driving gloves and enjoy the retired life. Over the years Les built up a huge customer base and was well respected amongst his colleagues. We thank him for his many years of excellent service and wish him all the best for the future.

The latest additions to our fleet are two brand new mini coaches. They are both EVM Elegance models based on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis. Powered by Euro 6 diesel engines, they are the most environmentally friendly vehicles on the road to date.

The saloon features 22 EVM Comfort seats with 3 point belts. Two full length luggage racks, LED night lights and individual passenger service units with reading lights and air conditioning.

These mini coaches have been brought especially to operate a shuttle bus service for Tesco’s headquarters in Welwyn Garden City.  They join another two EVM Elgance mini coaches acquired earlier this year.

We are very pleased to announce that Golden Boy Coaches has been shortlisted to receive a prestigious routeONE Award for a fourth time.

Our category, ‘Medium Coach Operator of the Year’ has been whittled down to just six operators by a panel of industry experts. The competition is strong but we hope to take the award home for a third time when the winner is announced  in November.

The routeONE Awards are a way of extending support to the coach and bus industry and are specifically designed to reward the operator. Launched in 2005 and now in its 12th year, the routeONE Awards is firmly established as the number one event in the coach and bus industry calendar.

Master Rory is our sixth new addition to the fleet this year. It is a Van Hool TX16 Astron and was supplied to us by Moseley (PCV) Ltd. As soon as it arrived  it undertook tours to Italy and Southern France and the feedback we received from clients was fantastic.

Interior features include 53 luxury leather seats with fold down tables and foot rests. Air conditioning and a WC for passenger comfort, as well as a fridge and hot water boiler for passenger refreshments. You will able to sit back and relax as you watch your favourite DVD on one of the 3 LCD screens that drop down from the roof.

This vehicle is suited to any form of hire and with plenty of room for luggage it is ideal for those long tours to any UK or European destination.

Peter & Billy are two Mercedes Benz minibuses supplied to us by EVM in Ireland.  They were brought especially to operate a shuttle bus service for Tesco’s Head Office in Welwyn Garden City.

The interior has been designed with a corporate feel in mind. The 16 passenger seats are decorated in company colours and fitted with three point seatbelts. Privacy glass and air conditioning allow passengers to travel in comfort and style.
